Frankie Boyer Show now on WCRN

WCRN continues selling their airtime during the weekdays. Frankie Boyer is now on from 2 – 3 p.m. Monday – Thursday. Not sure what airs at 1 p.m.

They already have the Drew Mortgage Show from Noon – 1 p.m. Monday through Friday along with other paid programming every day from 9 – 10 a.m.

I know many on this board thinks this is the future of AM radio but I can’t believe a 50,000 watt station can’t have at the very least a mixture of local and syndicated talk shows on their weekday schedule. Heck they would be better off simulcasting Herald Radio between morning and afternoon drive instead of just 10 - Noon.

Selling their airtime? Her show used to be distributed by the Lifestyle Talk Radio Network (sister network to the Business Talk Radio Network that used to own 1460 in Brockton). WXCT in Hartford, CT carried her show 15 years ago when they did their short-lived Talk Radio for Women format.

Since WCRN began simulcasting Herald Radio's Morning Meeting I've hoped they would carry the entire show from 9 a.m. Noon. The programming on Herald Radio from Noon - 3:00 p.m. is considerably better than what WCRN is carrying now. Of the shows they have now - Drew Mortgage, Sam Sorbo, Frankie Boyer, and Business, Politics, and Lifestyles - Sam Sorbo for a three hour block would seem to be the most best.. As soon as Frankie Boyer comes on I switch the station until Howie Carr comes on at 3 p.m. I'd always hoped they would run Laura Ingraham middays, since she has no presence in New England. With the above being said, I realize the brokered programming pays the bills.

She is also on 1510 Saturdays from 3p-4p but for some reason she announced that she would only be on 1510 for the month November. 1510 also added a Disco show Saturday and Sunday nights. It is kind of odd because most disco shows feature long mixes and part of the appeal is listening to how the DJ mixes however the guy buying the time on 1510 who comes complete with a heavy Esa Bos accent appears not to be able to mix because he talks after every record.

The second show runs Saturdays overnights and it meets 1510 standards. I could only stand to listen for 10 minutes.

With the 12 to 3 guy on 1510 gone they would be wise to run Herald Radio form 6am to 12noon. Move McPhee to 12 to 3 as an alternative to crazy Kuhner and counter program against Howie with the two currently on in the morning from 3 to 7.
