On the T&R drive program Toettcher had a segment/ 98.5 on his new radio and how he's tuning the AM band. He didn't say what make/model but he said the cost was $350.00. I can think of a few that price. I have a prediction, maybe he'll say?
If you're buying a radio to zip around the band at night I'd rec. one with a tuning knob in addition to direct pad entry digital.
He's going to find that we are moving into the worst period for AM distance listening. Sept-March the best. Fred seemed like a newcomer to AM which I suppose is possible for those born after 1970 and likely for those born after 2000 (who may not even know AM exists).
Unfortunately most of these portables and table models are made in that awful place in the Far East. I've been interested in buying a couple more but don't like sending my money there though there's not much you can do about that.
