Fred Honsberger

Fred was 58 and had worked in State College at WRSC a relatively long time ago, and well before joining KDKA. He was well liked and well respected even by those who disagreed with his political views.

Fred came to visit WRSC during my stay there and was treated like the Pope.

Who was "Super Max" on WRSC in the 1970s? It wasn't Max Kinkle (CKLW, WCBS-FM).

Nope. It was me (Max McGann). Bob Z hung that moniker on me.

:)

Waiting for new articles.

@kelly:You may have a long wait. Not a lot happens around here, it seems. And when it does, no one says anything. The 3wz flip and then re-flip caused a bit of a stir. When WRSC changed formats from progressive talk to regressive finance, no one seemed to notice. When the local ESPN station changed call letters, no one seemed to notice. And when Tony Whatsis from The Bus became a force for the proposed renaming of Park Av for Joe Paterno, no one on this board seemed to notice.
