I was watching an old talk show on Youtube from the 90's with the Three Sons as guests. Some comments have led me to wonder how well Fred MacMurray got along with the boys who played the sons. While his travel schedule and taping routine, discussed before, may not have made him always available, there were some comments which made Fred seem aloof and uninvolved while he was there.
1.) The host asked the Sons if Fred MacMurray kept them in line as a stand-in parent would. The actor who played Ernie gave a sarcastic laugh and said, "We never saw the guy".
2.) A commenter on Youtube noted Fred didn't associate with them much.
3.) Another commenter said the girl who played Dodie annoyed the heck out of Fred, finding it funny to pull on his toupee.
I have read kind comments from the Sons in the past about William Frawley. He got grouchy, but deep down he was cool.
Anyone here heard anything about how Fred (or anyone else was) on the set of My Three Sons? (How ME TV brings back the curious bug in us all.)
