Fred & Nick

I heard Brian Noonan talking about Fred Winston and Nick D together doing Spike's shift the first few days of the week of 9/22.

I bet this is Fred's WGN audition for what's to come.

He would be spectacular as the WGN morning man. A perfect fit. IMHO Cochran or Williams would not be the wisest choice.

Fred Winston, like Larry Lujack, would be a better fit with a few tunes thrown in every hour. I just don't see him doing a strictly talk show.

WGN didn't get to be as strong as they are for as long as they have been, by making poor choices.

Fred makes alot of sense in that shift. Coming to a place that is "the best job in radio" he will be great. Uncle Bobby was very unsure at the start - and grew into greatnes. Nick used to stutter and stammer but has improved alot. He is often hilarious. Steve and Johnnie play occasional music. WGN is the very best.

OOPS. Sorry. Fred and Nick were on after "Misterr Fix-it TODAY. They won't be on Monday. I was half asleep when I thought I heard that.

I heard Fred on Saturday morning. It was extremely truncated.....less than two hours.. due to Northwestern Football. Not really enough time for Fred to get rolling....he seemed uncomfortable and then it was over.
Nick was very gracious in acknowledging how thrilled he was to be working with Fred.

Today's 5-9am was a mishmosh of people. John Williams was on till 8, then Nick &, I think Lou, till Kathy & Judy @ 9. I was between the radio & other things all morning.l
