Fred Thompson finished at Westwood / WTN

Wonder if Michael DelGiorno will get his last hour back (12N-1P) on WTN now that good ole Fred Thompson is out as of 1/21/2011? Will anybody miss Fred? I especially liked the "lightnin' round". Riveting.

Will any of these changes help/hurt WTN's ratings? Maybe they should put an hour of sports on since GFX is twice the audience of news/talk. And the world says we American's don't know current events.

When people in other countries say this, they mean Americans don't know the current events that are important to them. They don't believe Americans can get past the obsessions with themselves, since so much of our "news" tends to come from the world of celebrity worship.

I was never a fan of Fred Thompson's radio show. I tried to listen to it a few times and really tried to like it, but I just couldn't put with his wife on there. It's obvious who wears the pants in that family.

Also, WWTN tried to make it part of it "Live and Local" segment from 5:30 AM to 8 PM everyday. It may have been live at 12 Noon and Fred Thompson is a "Local" product, but the show was originating from Washington, D.C., which isn't LOCAL.

Radio talk shows with non professional broadcasters rarely work. I don't know why there is a belief among many that radio is an easy medium, when it is actually very hard.

Pat Buchanan who is good on tv failed at radio as did Mary Matlin, so I'm not surprised Fred's show was not a success.

Very few have excelled on both mediums (Larry King, Sean Hannity). Even Rush Limbaugh, a talk show master is not good on tv nor was Bill O'Reilly good on radio.

And Glenn Beck - well, let's just say there's a few rough patches among the Top 10 markets which you may have heard about this week...

Mary Matalin - isn't she doing a new radio show with Arianna Huffington? "Both Sides Now," I believe it's called? That's cancelled already?

The Fred Thompson show was never about making good radio, it was simply a vehicle to keep good ol' Fred somewhat in the limelight until 2012. Much like the "Huckabee Report".

Personally, I had enough of Fred when he was filling in for Paul Harvey a few years back...

The show was a big fat dud...just like his Presidential bid.

I have not heard from anyone (stations or listeners) that this news upset them.
