I agree. Fred is a much more of a eye opener for Morning drive at LS-FM. I grew up in Chicago.
And Fred Winston was one of Jocks I enjoyed listening to.
I live in Southern California now. And one day I decieded to check out 94.7 WLS-FM one Morning.
Well, Brant was on at the time. And all I can say about him is that he would make a good snooze
button on your clock radio.

they've got Biondi, but the rest of the air staff is pretty lame and NOT befitting the name and legend of the calls of WLS(fm)
if they're going to re-cycle Chicago jocks, re-cycle some good ones OR go out of market and pick somebody GOOD from a medium or small market(they are out there)

There are rumors that Fred is being considered for the open 1PM-4PM slot on WGN AM 720. I hope that happens.
I don't mind Brant's show, as I like the music he plays in the morning. I would agree with you though Fred would be much
better in the morning, especially since it is now WLS again. Let's hope he gets back on the air soon he is great at any format
he does.

Agreed that Fred is a great talent that deserves to be back on the air. In a perfect world Lujack & Edwards should be doing
mornings on WLS-FM with Fred Winston in afternoon drive. With those additions and Biondi that station would be fantastic and true to the heritage of WLS.

...and in a perfect world, I would be still be working two jobs, one at WGN-TV as a gofer,the other at WEAW as a board op,and going to school,and trying to keep my 1960 Ford convertable together with Scotch tape and baling wire.
If Fred DOES get the afternoon gig on WGN,he's going to be a million times more entertaining than some of the people populating the airwaves at the 720 blowtorch. I don't live in the market any more, but when I was driving into the city back in early December, I tuned in about 330 pm, and there was some guy on who wouldn't pass an audition for my college radio station (in the "old days" of course).I was embarrassed to listen to more than a few minutes with this guy. Maybe it's me, maybe sounding totally unprepped is what passes for "being yourself" on the air,even in the third largest market.Maybe that's why I walked away from radio, and went into teaching mass communications. Maybe I don't know my keister from a hole in the ground..

I have listened to Fred Winston on and off since the early 70s. He is creative, funny and a great radio personality. There must be someplace Fred can call home so at least one radio station can start broadcasting a real personality again. Radio has lost listeners and share because the great personalities are off the air and have not been replaced. If radio wants more listeners then start giving listeners more reasons to listen. I am tired of the macho sports jocks and ultra conservative or ultra liberal talk show hosts. Why not feature someone who is entertaining and who listeners just enjoy - Bring back Fred Winston. 
It's a travesty what's happened to radio.
