So the worst kept "secret" in radio is Regular Guys back on mornings in Atlanta on 99.7 on yet another rock-oriented station. (And that IS what will happen, the proof is Tim Andrews' new deal for a high profile role on mornings).

Steve & Vikki only get used by Cumulus as a red herring, and B98, thanks to whatever deal was made with the devil or Celine Dion, walk away unchallenged with ALL the upper demo female numbers.

So here's a huge chunk of a highly desirable demo, waiting to be had, and a morning show proven to be loved by them sitting idle on the sidelines. Any rocket scientists out there?

Cumulus is a public company and doesn't think past tomorrow night. Long term, women 25-54 is a much more lucrative demo than 18-34, and AC on 99.7 might be a better move. But with Star's change in mornings, Cumulus sees its opportunity to increase revenue quickly and has jumped on it by moving Q to the big signal. And I can't blame them.

If they tried to compete with B98.5 on 100.5, they'd have the same signal disadvantage they had with Star (although the 100.5 signal is now pretty competitive).

I'm wondering if they're gunning for The River with 100.5. The River is a cheaply-programmed station and makes a ton of money, and it has some signal issues.

Even if The Regular Guys self destruct again, which is quite possible, they'll put 100.5 on the map and attract listeners quickly.

What proof is there of Tim Andrews new deal besides not being fired?
