Lots of free agents in phoenix these days.... anyone want to add to the list and speculate when and where they will pop up next:

Austin Hill - How long before KTAR dumps Mac and gives Hill pm drive
Supersnake - Wouldn't Movin or Jamz want to add this high personality to their team?
Ted Simons - Will he ever get back into radio? Does anyone care?
Tim and Willy - Are they so custom to the county format or could they do something else? How much longer until they get back on the air?
Chuck Powell - Would any station pick him up for am or pm drive? Would sandusky make a move with him?
 
Ted Simons is happily and gainfully employed as the host of Channel 8's "Horizon." He would be crazy to step away from that. It may not be glamorous, but it pays pretty well, and the last host they had was there more than 20 years. Nice work if you can get it.
 
I haven't heard any different... so I think Bill Gardener is still enjoying the Phoenix Beach....

And what happened to Liz Boyle... is she on the beach, too...?

I heard Bruce Kelley and Tim Hattick are mulling around a v.Y2K of Y95.
They're both available.


Oh, and the grey.....it works for Ted Simons. It's so very..... Horizon.

Reincarnating the old Y95 is a pretty exciting thought, if true. Would they bring it to Movin'?

I listen to Liz Boyle everyday on Radio Free Phoenix. Haven't heard her on KOOL in a while, though.

After two decades of radio, Simons is happy to be back on TV (he started in sports on TV5). He's got all the security and benefits of a state job now, since he's basically working for ASU. All those local folks at KJZZ have been there forever, too.

Trying not to be repetitive: Really, it's a shame. A shame that she wasn't chosen for mid-days! But I don't blame her one bit for quitting after this. She was doing the mid-days and was great at it! A positive, upbeat voice is what is needed for KOOL's mid-days. Many of us long-time KOOL listeners were so happy to finally hear Liz full-time! Not saying Steve Goddard isn't good, but.... Honestly, I didn't see it coming where they'd hire somebody from another station to steal the spot. Especially when she was doing a fantastic job! Imagine if you didn't get your dream job, when you worked hard for it for many years AND was perfect for it.
 
I'm predicting that KTAR dumps that awful Gaydos show & brings in Austin.
Or KFYI gives JD the boot & brings Austin Hill back.
Tim & Willie will find that Phx radio has no use for them & they wind up in Wichita, or St. Louis, Etc.

Tim & Who? The last Nurse Jeff and I heard, the two were headed to Alaska on a cruise ship with Liddy & Hill.

Well I beat Tim and Willy to St. Louis... They can pick up the pieces in Wichita... Apparently they had one hell of a storm last night. 3 stations knocked off 2 of them were not back on til noon or so.

"The truck" leaves monday.

;) Kissing bad air and 108+ degrees g'bye for a while.... It's been real... yadda yadda ;)

You do know Lauren... That most everyone that resides in AZ is actually from somewhere else.

And the bugs, freezing winters, boiling humid summers, floods, lack of mountains....etc. But hey, your river has more water than ours does (and with sandbagging could have even more).

Not true any longer (even though all those transplants like to complain about 'here' and wish they were back 'there').
 
Thanks guys... I will admit the deal isn't 100% sealed yet...there is a few things I have to close out before I leave.

Plus I am in the process of purchasing a LPFM near there. So you could say I'm buying my job, and working for the sister station if it closes on time.

Plus I still have my options open in other markets.

BTW - I do know how to swim with the sharks, and I do carry repellant, and waterwings. ;)
