FREE BEER & HOT WINGS

At first, I thought it was some stupid promotion like the "Testosteroom", but these guys are alright. It'll probably last about two years before Bud wises up and gets Mancow or Lex & Terry.

Typical morning show is what it is. The problem is that radio listeners on a whole are starting to lose interest in syndicated morning shows. Lex and Terry are OK, but people want their morning show to be reachable. The sure fire "nail in the coffin" is a syndicated morning show. Syndication is passable in a small market, but the folks in Nashville are very fickle. Think about it: Steve Gill was huge in Nashville. Partly because at the time he was the only whore at the dance, and he was local. People could see him at Kroger or at a little league game and they felt like they partly owned that show. No one really had a personal connection with B+T or any other syndicated show, aside from the occasional meet and greet. Local mornings is the way to win in Nashville. And local afternoon drive. Just a thought.

Oooh yah. They soond local too, eh. I love Free Cheese and Ice Fishing!

Ice Fishing? Ice Fishing? Dude, these guys are from Grand Rapids, Michigan not Mystery, Alaska!

You have obviously never been to Grand Rapids. The Ice-fishing there is excellent.

Incidentally, I would love to hear a morning show from Alaska. Perhaps they could feed another morning show to a grizzly bear. That would be great local color.

Would the Aurora Borealis & Salmon Show be longer at certain times of the year?

A morning show in Alaska would be noon or early afternoon here. Or to capture most of North America in morning drive, the Alaska show would have to sign on at midnight or 1AM. How about KBHR, part of the Minnifield Media empire?

I've been listening to these guys on and off over the last week and I've enjoyed what I've heard so far. I think they've got a bright future and it's a great change for 102.9. Like I said in another thread, I think losing B&T is a blessing in disguise for Cromwell. Things are finally turning around for them.

...and, maybe I've caught them on a bad week or listened at the wrong times, but so far they're not nearly as obnoxious and objectionable as B&T have been.
