All the jocks on 94.1 seem to be talking more since the format change. Is this a sign of more talk shows to come? Is this a good idea?

The idea behind Free FM is basically Hot Talk repackaged. They are still playing rock at night and on the weekends. It's not a new concept, although Infinity would like you to think so.

Once they find the talent to fill in the other time slots the music will be gone....Frankly I never listen to the station anymore...

I noticed that Infinity has advertised the coming of their new air talent, Adam Corolla, the Junkies, DLR, and Penn Jillette. Now, Penn Jillette is a mid-day host, and a magician/ bullshit artist. I am surprised that Infinity isn't touting The Barsky Show in any of it's ads.

And, since they've been the subject of much discussion on this very board, what was it about all the people who've weighed in here that didn't register?

I tried listening a few hours yesterday and today. It dawned on me that Free FM is trying to be the "Seinfeld" of Radio, ie a "show about nothing". I can't see it working, though. It sounds like a long drawn out morning show, but with no music to help keep it moving along. And yes, Kim Douglas has a very annoying laugh.

All the above are going to be on more than one Infinity station, that is ehy they are being advertised heavily. Barsky will only be on YSP, no syndication for the show. I don't listen to Free FM enough to hear whether or not YSP is even promoting the Barsky show or not.

But Cousin Ed has been filling in this week since Barksy has
laryngits.
I have been getting into ED this week..I like him. This was the first time
I had heard him on YSP. I never liked the name "Cousin ED" ..sounds
too country to me. So I never tuned him in. I wish he had a different
name.. I like first and last names. I think people have a better chance at
getting more gigs in radio or TV with a first and last name.
But that's just my opinion.
Ed should be doing mornings somewhere..if he could sound as up as he does in middays.
I remember hearing Al Bandero in NYC in the afternoon on WKTU...and
really liking him.
When he went to mornings on Jammin105 he didn't sound quite awake.
Not at all a morning guy.

He's been on WDRE, Y-100 and YSP, people for some reason don't realize how long he's been here. I thought he had a shot at the morning spot post-Howard also, but we get DLR instead. I'll reserve opinion on that until he's been at it awhile, no matter how much it looks like trainwreck.
