Free FM should look at Russ Martin..

I don't know if you have ever heard Russ Martin in Dallas but if they could get this guy to syndicate they really need him. He does the afternoon show on KLLI and has been #1 for years and they have had FM talk for a while. He takes a little while to get used to but is an absolute awesome host.

He was on 92.3 in Austin early last year when they experimented with FM talk; same basic setup as KLLI... total bomb.

Russ would be a great fit at free fm. He is a funny guy. I'd like to see
Mancow make a return to a valley station. He was even better than Howard Stern.

We got Mancow here in Salt Lake City, people are really responding to him, I think he's great, and have always prefered him to Stern, but at least you guys finally got The Profesor on FM. That's like the ultimate show to have.

I signed up on mancow website and I d/l his show each day to my ipod and listen at work Love it and no commercials too LOL

I'm in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area and I agree Russ has a funny show, but he has said that they won't change the show at all for syndication. Because of this listeners outside of Dallas/Ft.Worth area (or outside TX) might not want to hear him only talk about whats going on here locally. His show could work in other areas, but some of the shows "quirks" might not fit well until new listeners get a feel for the show.

The Austin thing on 104.3 had the feel of a short term filler stunt untill they got the format that they really wanted to use. It sounded like the station there didn't really do any promoting for any of the syndicated shows, (Stern, Russ, Leykis). I think Leykis did the best in the ratings of the three, although Russ did have improving ratings right before the flip.
