Tony Says:
Ok then if you heard the show then you know that they did not say it as a "gay" term, because they did not know the person was gay or bi, or anything else.

Dude I seriously hope you're just trying to be disagreeable instead of you actually being serious, that would make your point even more illogical. The point isn't whether or not they knew the kid was "Bi", that really means very little. Why am I even trying to be rational with you? you're like a brainwashed Doghouse cult member. SO forget it.

Who care if Glaad are after them? They didnt do anything wrong .It was all in fun and joking.

The Doghouse would pull in way better ratings in the morning slot than O&A has so far. They have a proven track record in the morning, it's funny you seem so negative when JV & Elvis get brought up.

Guaranteed if the merger goes thru, O&A move to afternoons on both XM and Free FM. Probably by the end this ratings period.

The show doesn't piss me off, it's the astroturfing here that's pissing me off. You can't get a hold on Sniffen's board, so you come over here.

One, mornings on the west coast is different than mornings here.

Two, how can you possibly say that the Doghouse will get better ratings than O&A? You can't GUARANTEE it. You can wish it, but the facts of the matter is that O&A's collective NYC audience on both the Free and XM platform dwarfs Doghouse.

The facts are this: O&A were brought in to do mornings and stabilize the lineup. So far, they've done that. Doghouse fans seem to have sour grapes when it comes to the fact that they were passed over when Roth bombed, but they hadn't done anything to that point to have them EARN that spot.

I am an O&A fan. I prefer them in afternoons. But it's not going to happen.

And to say they will be in afternoons by the end of this ratings period... that's just awful. If and when O&A change time slots because of the merger, it won't be til mid 2008. The merger won't go through until the end of the year, and then it'll be about six months before the new company starts showing changes in the lineups.

I disagree. I don't think they've stabalized the lineup. The station has the same ratings--give or take a .1 from when DLR was there...

And to say The Dog House would have better ratings than O and A is definitely a stretch I might add...

This whole thread feels like it's been written by the members of the JV & Elvis show. I have never heard a show that talks on top of each other as much as those two. Any time that I have punched into that show, I feel like I'm listening to a screaming match. They obviously have something there, but they need to give themselves space and stop talking all over each other.

That being said...I think the best thing Free-fm could do is move Ron & Fez into that 9-12 slot after O&A. Ron & fez are the best thing that station has and they're hiding them at night. They need to get rid of the Chick and chalk that show up to another Chick failure in NYC and move JV & Elvis to Afternoon Drive.

O&A...what do I say? That show is a shadow of it's former self. Someone needs to step in and get those guys back on track. Stop trying to pick fights with other shows and get back to entertaining the audience. And for god sake... stop whinning! I heard Opie bitch like a child over the quality of his Mets opening day tix that he got from his boss for about 15 minutes straight. You're a multi millionaire...buy yourself good seats.

I agree with almost everything RobRosen has to say. The problem with this plan is that Ron and Fez are an aquired taste, at best. It is sort of designed to be a cult type show, not a mainstream audience builder so I don't think they are hidden at night as much as they will probably work best there. OR at least they will hopefully work there as the ratings have not born that out yet.

Thanks for the support buzz. The thing about Ron & Fez is there are a lot of tie ins with O & A. They go on eachothers shows a bunch. They play well in the sand box together. If O & A ever get their act together, they could be an excellent lead in for Ron & Fez, instead having O & A's audience leave as soon as they are off the air.

When I first heard Ron & Fez on WNEW at nights, I just didn't get it. Maybe you're right about it being a "cult" type of a show, but if you give them a week to get yourself up to speed, you're in!

I agree with you on a few points. Ron and Fez moved to middays would be good and the DH to afternoon drive. However I see one problem with what you said above. The O & A audience would still leave after the show, because many of them follow them to XM. I think that WFNY needs to let the shows have alittle more room to do things. You can tell that O & A , The Doghouse and Ron and Fez seem to be tied down by the way the station limits them. I think it really hurts O & A the most.

Gotta disagree with you on that one. People who listen to them on Free fm don't follow them over to XM. They're already listening to them on XM. Why listen to the terrestrial show if you're already paying for the uncensored version on XM? Which, happens to be followed by Ron & Fez.

It's simple, O & A listeners want them to get good ratings on WFNY. Alot of them listen on terrestrial radio for that reason. I understand what you are saying, but WFNY has already said that may of the listeners leave and listen on XM. The uncensored version on XM is not alot different from the WFNY version, because they are following all those crazy rules at WFNY.

Now comes the problem with XM. Do they let them do another hour at WFNY and do they want to have Ron and Fez leave them also. I am not sure, but we will see what happens when the mergers closes.

All the best

Listen I think Ron and Fez is a great show BECAUSE it is an aquired taste, it is DIFFERENT which is not usually what you would expect in NNew York, this is the saftest market in the world for obvious reasons. As listener I love that Ron and Fez is different and something of a show you have to sor of tteach yourself to like if you're the average mainstream listener which is the point. Most radio people are not, they appreictae the skewed perspective more so than the average guy who will enjoy even O and A. All I said was the Ron and Fez show is on at night because its not mainstream enough for a daytime daypart and that is pretty much by design. Not a knock on them or the show just a realistic evaluation for those who talk about how the DOghouse will do better in mornings than O and A (just dumb logic) and complain that Ron And Fez are hiddn at night. Just not a lot of thought goes into such posts.
