Free Music for radio production...

I

icebreaker

Guest
I found a website: http://www.dsnmusic.com
They allow broadcast radio and online stations to use their music for free!

Most of it is pop-rock stuff, but it can be used for radio promotions, spots, etc. I guess they promote their artists by doing this. Some of the music has been on ESPN and Fox, and the trax are pretty good! The best part it is free!!

Where does it say that broadcasters and producers can "use" the music in "promotions"?

Looks like it's just free downloads for "listening use" as opposed to me using it in something I can make money with. I'd be cautious about this..just an old man not wanting to be sued (again)

Please let me know if that's not the case

You are correct Jeff… this is not license free music.

BTW: my favorite source for great (and rather inexpensive) music is Music Bakery.

My station bought some Music Bakery stuff about a decade ago.

We took a demo disc from them last year, and found several of the cuts were the same. Needless to say, didn't buy it again.

The Sound Ideas "Mix" series are some of my favorites..and Network music's superb tracks are inexpensive and all you pay is needle drop for those. Music Bakery has tracks available online now, and you can audition a nice clip of them before you buy. BTW Many of the 60's are looped 30's from what we can tell..so if you really need a 60..buy a 30 and loop it yourself. This is of course for retail and promos music beds. As for imaging..I like a lot of the independent guys's stuff..Big Fish was my favorite.
