FREE MUSIC SCHEDULER MUSIC GEN LITE

What exactly was the latest release of this free scheduler? Hope to get it one day so I can further use this great piece of software.

Final version was 2.01.0033.

If someone has the installer of this final release (2.01.0033), would it please be possible to upload it?
I have an older version and the play function doesn't work. Maybe it does work in the latest release.

Many thanks!

Nope - it's disabled in 2.01.0033. It may work only if you have it linked somehow to a NexGen system.

I dunno... I dont like this program too much... It took me hours to figure out how to reconfigure the LOG page to display the information I wanted in the order I wanted and the only way I could figure out to make it display the album was to go back and more the album info into "artist 2" there also seems to be no way to print out just a "playlist" of what I scheduled in the log page??? Am I missing something???

I would just like to be able to go into the program, schedule all the music breaks and spots etc... and print it out on a peice of paper showing Start Time, Run Time, Descrition (title), Album for the hour??? Is that possible with this program?

I can assure you this ranks among one of the coolest free pieces of software I've ever downloaded. It was written for XP.

It is, but you need to invest some time to get it set up properly. I second sgeirk's comments - this program is the closest thing you can get to Selector or MusicMaster without having to pay the big bucks. MusicGen is VERY powerful once you get it properly configured.

If you're looking for simple - get StationPlaylist. There's nothing easier. But it's not free.

I just started using MusicGen and am having a time trying to get the artist separation rules set. I have some artists like George strait that will play the same hour two or three days in a row. Is anyone familiar enough with this program to give me tips? Song separation is great, but with artists with large song counts, we end up with artists the same hours each day for days on end. like 10 4 and 8 each day for a week.

Ogallala doesn't support this anymore, so I am hoping there are other users out there still that can help a guy out.

No listener will really notice that you've played the same artist five days in a row in the same hour. Programmers may think they do.

My version of MusicGen supports prior day artist. It's under the artist rule.

Try to keep an artist out of playing the same quarter-hour prior day, if you feel necessary, but if you get too excessive with prior day artist...it can't schedule.

Does anyone have an active link to download this? I would like to try it.

Thanks

MGLite was discontinued by Prophet nearly three years ago.

The OP had made a copy available but the download link is dead. You might want to PM the OP - check the first post in this thread.

I'm in the same boat with Jamie. If anyone cares to share....

I did notice before I got into radio. Not that I was upset or was going to change the station, but I did notice :)

Does this work EXCLUSIVELY with Prophet/NexGen or will it work qwith "other" Automation Systems. I'm running Digilink Free (Arrakis) at home & lloking for something to populate the playlist randomly.

You can specify the output format in terms of "position" and size" of fields - and M3U is supported as an option, too. So I would say "yes" but I don't know how Arrakis like their playlists ;)

Since there seems to still be interest in the file, you can download it here:
http://atoys.com/sandi/MusicGen.exe

Now, could somebody send me the UNLOCK CODE for this pup. Yeah, I know I can log in as supervisor and use a blank password. However, I haven't unlocked it on my current computer, and it wants the code, which I no longer have. So I can't get to the login screen yet!

So maybe somebody could mail me the unlock code at
programs at cflfm.com,
please?

Thanks to a little help from this board, there's now a version of MusicGen that needs no unlock code. Same address as before, just a better file:

http://atoys.com/sandi/MusicGen.exe

This is the free version that Prophet Systems was giving out before their takeover.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it, but at least now I have a working version unlocked on my PC.
