Free Talk Live - Now on XM!

Yippie! I'm excited for all the professional drivers who will be listening to the show (as well as everyone else who finds us on XM).

You can listen to Free Talk Live on America's Talk, XM 166, delayed on weeknights from 10p-12a Eastern

It's actually on from 9 PM to midnight. Also on weekends it's aired on channel 165 in the same slot. I've been listening to it after leaving work, since I'm west coast and get out at 6 or 7 PM. It's a nice contrast compared to Roger Hedgecock who comes on before, and even more the morning show: http://www.warroom.com

That's correct, but we're 9-Mid weeknights on 166 only until the David Cox show starts up, which has been apparently having some sort of difficulty, so they are filling in the gap with our first hour.

Thanks for the heads-up on 165 - I knew that was coming, but the start date got pushed back a bit. Glad to know - it's not even on their schedule. I'm looking forward to having the audience from 165. FTL started in 2002 on a "Real Radio" station in Sarasota, and Real Radio Orlando is the home for the bulk of "Extreme Talk" XM 165's programming. It's almost like being back on Real Radio, except we aren't live. I look forward to a day when we are live on XM, as thus far, when our first 7p hour airs at 9p on America's Talk XM 166, we get a good level of participation from their audience, especially the professional drivers.

Interesting to know. David Cox's "ESB Hour" show is a show that buys time on stations. Maybe his check bounced. :/ The brokered shows don't seem to last on XM very long so don't be surprised if the first hour eventually reemerges. I'll bet those daily slots are costly. There is a time-buy financial show on Sundays on 168, but it's only an hour a week, so the host has been able to keep it going by not blowing through 50 hours in 10 weeks. I'm glad too, because I enjoy his show.

Actually, I was informed tonight that Cox's show is not going forward, so it's now official that we are on 9-Mid on XM 166 on weeknights! 8)

Last night I heard a promo for the show. On the Mix channel of all places. I guess they figure people who like Dawson McAllister will like FTL.

Looks like you'll be waiting around for a live spot. Right now several other evening shows are played on other XM talk channels. Roger Hedgecock is in the 6-9 slot on XM 166, Jason Lewis runs live on XM 168, Mark Levin is on Sirius/XM 125, and Mike Malloy runs 9-12 on Sirius/XM 127. That's just syndication offerings, which Sirius XM is carrying less and less of on its own channels. Others contain in-house shows or replays of in-house shows, which usually means the channel gets preempted by sports in that evening timeslot. Levin and Malloy have been preempted on their channels in the past. The Clear Channel channels are immune from preemption.

Nice! Thanks for the heads-up.

I'm used to waiting, so that won't be a problem. I sure wouldn't have gotten this far had I been impatient.

Well, looks like I didn't have to wait 24 hours! I just got word that FTL's live Saturday show will air all three hours live 7-10p Eastern starting this Saturday on XM 165, Extreme Talk!

165 will also be airing our Friday show on Sundays from 7-10p Eastern.

Does anyone know if any other shows besides Howard Stern air on more than one XM talk channel?

Several are, but I had to check just to make sure.

- Rosie Radio is on Stars and OutQ
- Michelangelo Signorile is on OutQ and Sirius XM Left
- Mike and Mike in the Morning are on ESPN Radio and get a west coast delayed replay on ESPN Xtra
- Jason Ellis is on Faction, The Virus, and Stars Too
- Glenn Beck is on Sirius XM Patriot and XM Talk
- Jay Thomas is on Stars Too and Howard 101
- Alex Jones and Roger Hedgecock are on America's Talk and XM Talk (weekends)
- The Morning Mashup is on Sirius XM Hits 1 and gets a west coast replay on Top 20 on 20

That's all I could find on short notice but I'm sure it doesn't stop there.

Been listening to FTL on LRN.fm ever since getting turned on to libertarianism.
Pretty Keene program!
