FREE Time Compression Plug-In..and it's GOOD!

I have been reading the discussions below about time compression problems in AA. Tanner_Boyle and the others are really right about Pro Tools' time compression being the best..but this one is good..

Here's the one I like a lot..and it is S-M-O-O-T-H..It's freeware from a really fine plug-in developer. I use the DIRECT X VERSION..it is really good.

I have also heard good things about that one, though I haven't tried it. I think I'll give it a download.

The only one I've heard that's better than ProTools, is the Waves Sound Shifter. It allows for graphical, independent time and pitch shifting, so it's really easy to make the pitch do one thing, while the time is doing something completely different. It's worth downloading a trial, but probably not worth the $700 by itself...But when it's included in a bundle, it's a nice tool to have.

Celemony Melodyne is also really good, but it operates as a standalone, not a plug-in...And it's about $1000, I think.

Played around with the delay dots DX version last night. It is better than Audition's IMO. I don't understand how they do that, but it works well. Thanks for sharing that Jeff.

Yeah, nice freebies!
I'm still looking for an FX that will act like a tape and turn a selected piece of audio into something that gra d u a ll y s l o w s .
or speedsuprealfast. Should be VST, no Pro Tools.

Just highlight in AA where you want it to start s-l-o-w-i-n-g down, and go to EFFECTS and time/pitch and choose pitch change..set it to flat..then use the mouse to move the pitch down..then select preview to see if it's what you want..then SAVE..Also works the other way to pitch up..The pitch function also will shorten or lengthen the selected audio.

REMEMBER to adjust the little control "knob" marked "accuracy" to the Music Note icon not the drum icon for maximum cleanliness..I't not a bad little program.

Iuse Waves Gold Native, it has a "mondomod" feature that does tape jerk, tape rewind and much much more (but it's DX).
You may want to check out their site for VST plug-ins.
