FreeFM Audition TONIGHT 6/05

I couldn't stay up for the show so what was it like? Did they have a set agenda or was it basically free form talk radio.

Absolutely awful. I'm trying to be objective here, but it sounds like intern radio night. Plus, the yelling back and forth to each other, come on, that's not what makes "guy talk" work. Finally, they don't do anything that really makes them "pop" out at you. I found some interesting reading while I was surfing around to find the website:http://talkaboutmedia.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=622&sid=5479e7b692fef8a0b4564396aea3bc76and don't miss:http://talkaboutmedia.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=69&sid=5479e7b692fef8a0b4564396aea3bc76I know radio is a rough business, but it sounds like these two have torched enough bridges to make Sir Alec Guinness blush. I would love to see FreeFM work in Phoenix, but I won't be listening to these two if they're on, even at 11pm. -Moe

The one guy renames Scottsdale "Scottsdukes" after himself? The stupidest thing ever. They spent two hours talking about what city they should live in. I heard the same thing on one of the afternoon shows on KFNX! Nothing against them; at least 1100 MAKES money off the rookies.

This is what tryouts are for, to weed out the shows that can't produce on the spot. I sincerely hope that they put this tryout behind them and move on to the next one. They managed to alienate the local audience in three days, and they must believe that being overly abrasive equals ratings. Who else besides me got tired of them calling everyone that they brought up in conversation a derogatory name? It didn't work for them in Baltimore, and it won't work for them here.On a couple other radio boards there was mention of some guys that had a show in Minneapolis with roots in NYC that were interested as well. If I find more info, I'll post it here. We'll see what happens next. Let's hope that Free Fm moves on to their next candidate and that they don't come in and do the same thing.
