Freethought Radio Comes to NYC

Finally, a radio show for the Atheist in everyone :)

http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071006/NATION/110060001

"Beginning today, the 14 percent of Americans who label themselves as nonreligious will be able to turn on the radio once a week and hear a show that caters to their specific beliefs — or lack thereof.

The first national broadcast of a Freethought Radio program will be aired over Air America Radio out of Madison, Wis., with such guests as Christopher Hitchens, author of the best-selling book "God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything."

Mr. Hitchens will be aired today on XM Satellite channel 167 and over WWRL-AM (1600) in New York City from 7 to 8 p.m., the show's regularly scheduled time."

I have not heard the showbut it will be interesting to see what sponsors are willing to participate.

Anti-religion has long been verboten on commercial media, especially in recent ears with the christian "colleges" grinding out faithful drones by the thousands each year.
My guess is that this show will short-lived or make it's way to non-commercial media.

the 14 percent of Americans who label themselves as nonreligious

That means 86% are religious? For a modern, technologically advanced country to have even some percentage of it's citizens still cowering in churches is shameful.
