French weatherman fired over global warming book

France’s top weatherman has been suspended from his job for questioning the cult of global warming, according to Brietbart News.

Philippe Verdier, a household name for his nightly weather reports on the France 2 channel, has just published a book in which he argues that the climate change industry is a “war machine whose aim to keep us in fear.”

This went down very badly with his employer which is funded by the French government and is ideologically committed to promoting the global warming scare narrative in the run up to the UN’s COP21 climate conference in Paris this December.

Once heard a report on VOA that scientists believe we've been undergoing global warming for a long time. And we've just been adapting to it. Its only been until relatively recently (last hundred years or so) that we've had instruments that can measure it.

I'm not sure why this thread was bumped. The OP reported the firing more than five years ago.

I've been seeing a number of old threads getting bumped in the last few days. Should there be a time limit on bumping old threads if they haven't received replies after, say, two years of inactivity? Not sure what's the best answer on this one.
