Frequency 94.1 has been adding alt tunes to there format

I have been listening and 94.1 seems to be looking for those very very very unhappy sound listeners !!!

I heard whats the frequency kenneth and also feist 1,2,3,4 blister in the sun allison by mr costello so i do not know whether they will go all alt but they are sounding pretty good even with the nickelback but we shall see.

Cmon people every song on rewind has been burnt out. How any of you can call that a great station is beyond me.It certainly is nothing out of the norm!!!

And I just heard some Cake, Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon on there, so it seems likely that they might be testing the waters at the moment. Maybe they'll see how it goes and if all goes well, they'll officially flip formats.

Hey, I have no objections to Cincinnati having an alternative station, Hot Patrick.

I just refuse to give credibility to your rants about 80's music. How old are you anyway? 18? 23? How many radio stations have you programmed? Where's your research?

I don't have a problem with your taste in music. Only your uninformed opinions about what music appeals to what audience demographics.

BTW: just to be grammatically correct, the subject line should be "adding alt tunes to "their" format".

My problem with it is just why don't we start adding second and third tier 80s tunes also in addition to what they are playing. The only 80s station i liked in this country was in palm springs in the early 00's where they played a really great variety of 80s. They played stuff from the top 40 bands along with the alt music back then like the cure the smiths a good variety. It was at 97 something and is now a chr station.

I know i sound very opinionated about the station but christ these are songs you hear in any market all over the country try something different for a change. I know these songs test well but i can't believe there are still people that listen???WTF

My format of choice is indie/alt and chr and hip hop that is what i enjoy and i am in my mid 30s.

i guess you haven't listened to rewind, they have varierty, they might not have 80's alt., but they just don't play 80's music, they play disco and some 90's songs.

Because those are the hits. Those are the songs that MOST people want to hear.

You're basing this on what you LIKE, not on what SELLS. I find most of those songs on Rewind to be burnt out too, but if I were running it, those are the songs I'd be playing because those are the songs that that audience wants to hear.

When I'm on air, I play what the people want. I listen to MY faves on MY time. :)

But all of what they play is tuneage we have all heard time and time again reguardless if it is 70s 80s 90s!!!

Amen - Same crap over and over and over and over and over.

Does radio have any innovation anymore? Are there any leaders? Or just followers. Hang the consultants.

There is so much music out there in so many genre's. There are so many things that could be tried. New ideas.

Rewind is destined to be another "failed idea" because it's already been done. Mark my words.

Who know's, perhaps if stations, for once, tried something completely new, a fresh idea, maybe radio would become exciting again.

Unfortunately, that's what people want. I listen to a lot of '80s music, but mostly the obscure stuff like Camper Van Beethoven, the Pogues, Agent Orange and They Might Be Giants. I've just accepted the fact that most people in this world want to hear the same crappy songs over and over again. That's just how it is I guess.
