Frequency Swap in Meridian?

Has anyone heard anything about WMLV and WKZB swapping dial positions? I spoke to someone who said Holladay had a full-page ad in the local paper about it. It said something about "SAM" (Simply About Music) for WMLV on its new frequency.

Anyone know?

Would "SAM" be a Jack clone? Maybe it'll actually work. AC obviously wasn't working on 106. Is KZB still basically classic rock? Wouldn't this be competing against them for that audience? Although I will say that this could give The Eagle a run for its money.

My company in Fort Wayne launched Mike FM on one of our frequencies and after just a month the market is going crazy. It may not have been launched in enough time to have a big impact on the book but the fall will be interesting.

If this is the route that Eddie is taking with WMLV, I'll be eager to see what it does.

Yes...SAM would be a clone. I think Eddie is a clone. I think Eddie is wishing he'd had the gonads to flip MIX before Arrow did. I also think that Eddie is a knee-jerk owner who doesn't really think things through like he should sometimes. I don't know if SAM will work or not. I doubt seriously that Holliday will cut his airstaff unless his main goal is to eliminate the payroll...Many of the clones don't seem to work for long. They flash big and then they seem to get lost in the shuffle. JACK on the other hand seems to last a while longer...and I can only guess that is because of the elimination of jocks and the flippant attitude of the delivery.

That's also one man's opinion. As far as encouraging people to move toward satellite radio, I think it's going to take a lot more than moving some frequencies around and flipping some formats in the Meridian market. Like figuring out how to get sat radio for free. People aren't going to keep paying for that service...especially when the rates go up to pay the likes of Stern and other big syndicates.
