Frequency swap nets a new FM for the Quad Cities

Northpine.com reports a suburban Illinois class A rimshotter is slated to become more of an in-market Quad Cities station with a three way frequency swap. WQUD is licensed to Erie IL, northwest of the Quad Cities. WQUD currently operates as a class A on 105.5 MHz. In order to move closer to the Quad Cities, WQUD is moving to 107.7, with the class A at Polo IL on 107.7 moving to 98.3, and finally the class A at Sterling on 98.3 gets WQUD's former 105.5 frequency.

With the move to 107.7, WQUD will place a city-grade signal over most of the Quad Cities with a tower about 10 miles east of downtown Moline and about 15 miles SW of Erie. WQUD is using a Longley-Rice showing that demonstrates that Erie will receive over a 70 dBu signal.

Looks like WQUD and WLLT are switching frequencies on Monday, June 25th. No mention online for anything about WSSQ yet.
