FREQUENT BOARD CONTRIBUTOR (TRIP IN VA) JOINS LUKEN COMMUNICATIONS

Good luck Trip with your new position. Hope you can help those guys fix some thangs.

Congrats on the new gig, hopefully you can help right that sinking ship.

Thanks for the kind words. So far, so good. Everyone will have to excuse me if I'm very measured in what I say on matters relating to my new employer; I would not want to get myself into trouble. :)

There are some interesting things on the way from Luken, so keep your eyes open.

We're actively on the hunt for new affiliates to replace the ones that have left. We've been prioritizing markets where we get the most complaint e-mails about lost affiliates. It also helps when viewers contact local stations directly and request these networks.

Cash their checks the second you get them Trip. ;)

I wouldn't have taken the job and relocated 8 hours from home if I thought it was risky to do so.

Plus, it's direct deposit. ;D

You'll like Chattanooga, it's a nice city to start out life in. It's big enough for a city but not so big to intimidate and it's about midway between Atlanta and Nashville, which are world class cities if you get very bored.

And Luken will be a good company to start with as they are new(ish) and you can really get into the thick of it and learn the business rather than have to deal with established corporate structure.

And while I'm sure none of us expects you to do anything to jeopardize your position or to divulge confidential information, we all want RTV to succeed, and while people on this and other boards have questioned RTV strategies, at least Luken was smart enough to hire someone who actually knows something about TV and cares about TV.

Congrats on the job, don't work too hard too fast.

PS, don't forget to visit Rock City and Ruby Falls :)

Best of luck with your new job! Is Trip still in VA though?

A friend of mine suggested that my name could now be "Trip in Viewing Area," so I'm going with that. ;D

And Mark, thanks. There are a lot of smart people at Luken Communications, not just me.

There are still a few shows on RTV I'd like to see. See if you can get them a better
station/signal than 16 in Atlanta. I'd like to see the new PB&J on 26 or 32 also! ;D

Congrats Trip! PBJ isn't in DFW yet (hint hint?) and I haven't gotten to see much of RTV yet (I have to break down and get an external antenna and figure out how to put it up) as I only have the cheapo bunny listening appendages ( :D :D 8) 8) ) for now.

I just heard that Me-TV and Antenna TV were putting together plans to spirit Trip's contract away from RTV. ;D
