Fresh 102.7 is coming

Looks like http://www.fresh1027.com/ was updated, and is now touting "New York's Newest Radio Station."

As an aside, just tuned in to 102.7 now, and it sounds like they've really toned down the audio processing...perhaps in anticipation of the change???

CBS Radio's got quite a bit happening on Jan. 2nd here in NYC... the debut of Fresh 102.7, the "relaunch" of 92.3 Free FM... I hope it goes well for them.

I find it quite funny that Jack is the best performing station of the CBS FM stations with all the naysaying going on against it. I hope 2007 brings luck to all CBS FM stations.

IS Fresh 102.7 coming Jan. 2nd? I'm not 100%, but it seems that way... the site wasn't active earlier today. I'm listening to 102.7 right now also and it does seem a bit flat.

We'll see... really soon...

Holy jesus.

The Fresh logo is the freakin' Blink logo, with a different font and color scheme. Instead of pink it's blue-green, and it's right-aligned instead of centered.

okay so "soft" music is getting harder and harder if those artists are there core... no older artists... so it will be a Hot A/C named Fresh and calling it's self soft music.... that's if they're not just messing with people!

Wow!!!What an exciting format that is!!!! LOL And they fired the airstaff why? they cant adapt to a different Sheryl Crow song???Thank god for Sirius.......

By god.... you're right. Here's the two logos -

(Just found out they don't allow images to be posted :p )

now it's bothering me. I've seen the Fresh font used before, and I'm gonna kill myself until I recognize it...

Wow! What a excellent station. I haven't listen to it yet, but this station is way better than "Mix 102.7" because of that awful 70's and 80's dance music than the old "Jammin' 105" in New York City and "Rhythm 94.3" in the Hudson Valley. I'll have to record this aircheck later today.

Their music seems positioned between WPLJ and LITE. It's slightly more familiar and office friendly than WPLJ and less gold based than WLTW.

My guess is WPLJ will take the biggest hit from FRESH, they really can't afford to lose a portion of their audience. WKTU will obviously benefit the most.

The first song was actually "How To Save A Life" by Fray, NOT "Fresh" by Kool and the Gang...they were using that song over and over before 5 am as a "lead-in" to the new format. I thought it was funny that they were playing "Fresh" the 1st time I heard it this morning, since I had seen the rumor of the new format, and then they played it again & again until 5 Am...then I knew.

It looks like I now have a new favorite station comparable to the old Mix 105 (WMXV) which left in November 1996....there has not been a true replacement for it IMO since then....If CBS has the guts to keep this station as it is (adding some personality, eventually), and not adjust the format, as they did 3 years ago with Mix 102.7 (AC to Classic Dance), then this will be the best thing for CBS in NY in a long time, not to mention NY Radio overall.

oh gee, what a suprise...

I was actually wondering over the weekend if that would be their first song.

Oh, predictability....

BTW, the logo reminds me of My94-1 in San Diego

The name is great, very very New York. It will connect with the women who hear almost every day, "yo Gina don't chu get a freash wit me". ;D
