Since this hasn't been mentioned yet, the Fresh AC format continues on WCFS HD2, now rebranded as "The New Sound of Fresh 105.9 HD2". It is also being streamed on Fresh105.9.com, and so far is running without jocks and commercial free. So if anyone is interested, the Fresh format lives on on HD radio and the internet, joining the likes of Q101 on Q101.com. :)

It should have been moved to the garbage can! (WBBM sounds good at 105.9 in analog FM).

Giving a brief listen to 105.9 after work last night, & I think they're trying to make their FM simulcast sound like you're listening to the AM station. The way the sound was coming out of my radio, I thought I was actually hearing the AM side, & not the FM side. I think I'd rather listen to them on the AM side if it's gonna sound sound like garbage on the FM side. Besides, driving around Lansing, it's difficult to listen to 105.9 in parts of the village, due to 106.3 transmitting out of Lansing along I-80/94 (driving closest to the 106.3 tower, & the signal bleeds over 105.9).

Funny you should mention reception on 105.9 In the Crystal Lake area, it's a crappy signal in valleys and along the Fox. Add today there was Tropo "skip" from Kansas and it was really breaking up the simulcast. But to me, the sound is somewhat better on FM, and where possible, I'll listen to 105.9

I agree that WBBM news sounds better on FM.
