Fresh 105.9 PD Sets One-Year Timetable

Fresh 105.9 PD Jim Ryan - who has seen the station go from 22nd place to a tie for 25th in the most recent ratings period - says he expects "significant progress [in] a year from now" in improving the station's performance.

Ryan, who oversaw New York's Lite-FM during its longtime reign at the top of that city's ratings, is openly seeking local personalities for the station.

A one-year time line in Chicago?

Sounds like a career limiting statement.

Change and acceptance can come slow in the Windy City when it comes to radio, right?

and while 93.9 LITE fm is playing christmas music in november

cbs should plug the hell out of 105.9 during those 2 months

just sayin...

Would love to have a "Lounge Format " like Martini in the morning .com does online. Us baby boomers would enjoy a little of the Chairman of the Board music.....

Not gonna happen on a full-signal major market FM. CBS and other major operators don't care about aging baby boomers.

The question is what happens if CBS' Fresh stations fail to make major inroads. In Chicago, you'd likely see The Score simulcast on 670 AM & 105.9 FM. In NY, either WFAN or one of CBS' news stations would land on 102.7 FM. Just MHO. :)

What would happen to "94.7 Fresh FM" in DC?

Good question! CBS just started a sports station (106.7 The Fan) and doesn't own an all-news station in DC, so those alternatives aren't possible. Probably another music format. :)
