Fresh Flushes PD!

After nearly a year of being "The Number 19 Station in Las Vegas", Beastly Broadcasting has apparantly sent Program Director Dandy "Ding" Don Hullet packing! So... who will the new-old consultant bring in from out of town to show everyone how it's done?

hahaha...HAHA...HAHAHAHAHAHA awh. awh. that...that is rich. i remember hearing him tell me how big of a deal he was... this is hilarious.

It's about time! Larry Martino has been programming KKLZ anyway...might as well give him the title...great book! He was MD at 105.5 when they were oldies anyway...whats the difference...Maybe now they will finally get a PD at FLUSH that KNOWS music....I would come out of retirement to program that station...FLUSH is SO easily fixable!!! Great signal but crappy music....like The Party---ughhh!

What would you do to fix the music? I see that the original FRESH in NY is doing poorly as well. Maybe the entire FRESH concept is flawed no matter how you execute it? Also, KFRH has that generic, automated, less talk type sound while KMXB is fully staffed 24/7.

a) Local local local (i.e. stop voicetracking from out of market)

b) Stop treating your listeners like they aren't sexy anymore. You're a Hot AC...not a mom-pants factory. Spice it up a little bit.

Can anyone tell me why Beasley let this guy go? Or did he leave on his own? Seems odd. I read that KKLZ was doing great, looks like KFRH was headed up????? I am looking for work in the market and want to land in a stable environment.

Stable environment? Work?

First off, I'll be honest, posting to this site is not a very good step in the job search. Actually probably hurts ya...so I wouldn't attach your name.

That being said...take my word for it...the Beasley cluster is very unstable. I can't explain why as I do not work there, but there is CONSTANT turnover and questionable onair decisions. There is a new PD now, Sean Lynch, who may turn things around. We'll see. But if you are looking for a stable environment NOW...that isn't the place.

Keep in mind that KFRH has really only had one good month, the most recent one. When they let the old PD go, the station wasn't doing well. Although I have no idea if that's why Beasley fired him.

FEMALE'S BACK TO BACK
No,I don't mean sex..

Someone mentioned a PD who wouldn't allow back to back female songs on the air.

Well today I was at the dentist and in the waiting room they were playing the "Fresh" staion here in Vegas. The pain the dentist caused was noting compared to having to listen to "fresh".

Oh yeah I heard at least three back to back female songs.

Were they hit records? Would you consider them strong for their format? I don't care if they play 10 females in a row...That's an old 70's cliche...you can't play 3 females. or 3 this or 3 that in a row...I remember programming an AC station where the OM wouldnt let us play more than 1 of anything in a row...As long as you play the biggest hits for your format, you generally win no matter if they are females, or otherwise...

fresh and "generally win" do not belong even remotely close to each other.
