Fresh FM vs KOST

So ive know gone from listening to KOST to Fresh FM fulltime. I like the music better, lite AC and No Soft Rock that KOST loves to throw in.

Im officially a Fresh listener now.

I think Fresh FM is gonna be a FAR vetter station than KOST. Their sweepers suck but the music is great.

Im interested to hear what other KOST listeners are listening to now...

Which station that we can listen to in Los Angeles is called "Fresh?"

I can only guess the starter of the thread is referring to the fact that he listens to "Fresh 102.7" in New York full time online, or a "Fresh FM" elsewhere (although NYC is the only place I'm aware) So, to answer the question in that aspect, I've found myself pointing my virual FM antenna north of Smoggy Southern California to KKDV-FM in Walnut Creek, and KKIQ-FM in Pleasenton, two genuine "Mix" stations. Good choice of music, easy on the ears DJ's, fun sweepers.

So the original poster is male, and AC stations are generally aimed at females, so does this really mean anything that he likes Fresh better than KOST, especially since there is no Fresh in LA? I guess it could all be internet listening, but if that's the case there's plenty of competition to go around. The fact is that it doesn't really matter since as I said, there's no Fresh in LA. Isn't this the same guy who posted another thread about Fresh being better than Lite FM and Mix. I think he was talking New York or maybe Chicago, but again, doesn't apply to LA, at least not at the moment... By the way, is Fresh in New York impacting WLTW at all? Would it impact KOST if it were to become a format used by another LA station? Questions, questions...

I get it though; RonaldMolina50 really "likes" Fresh!

Excellent points calguy. Being a man, RonaldMolina50 isn't in the KOST target demo. After checking out their music monitor, FRESH/NY looks like a cross between STAR and KBIG. So I don't think it would hurt KOST at all.

FRESH is only slightly impacting WLTW in NY. I think that it would hurt KOST even less because they are softer than WLTW.

Fresh is within one share of WLTW in 25-54 demos. I would consider that a serious impact on the lite, and one to take seriously. I don't think LA is a place for a Fresh just yet. Too many other AC offerings.

Bzzzt. In the Feb-Mar-April, Fresh is behind WLTW in 25-54 by nearly 3 points.

Sorry, the numbers i was refering to were the extrapolated in the last month.

And as extraps, they are definitely subject to enormous variation. WLTW had the same number in July of 2006, yet its average is about a point and a half higher.

In fact, in 2006, WLTW varied over a range of two points and a half from month to month... because Arbitron gives no guarantee that individual months are balanced in sample and weighting.
