Fresh Low Numbers

I think going to alternative rock would be a great idea. There is a huge hole in the market for that. CBS could gain listeners from Q 104.3 and protect CBS FM. If programmed right, any format in NYC could work if its catered to the market.

Word was that they'd been up to some plan for nine months when the announcement was made.

Fresh seems safe fttb.

heh, that's about how long it took them to pretty much give up on the todd show....shakeup at PLJ if they plan for that long? Always thought cumulus just threw stuff at a dart board.

I've noticed some subtle tweaking of Fresh's imaging and music. Edgier presentation with a few more alternative cuts.

Fresh 102.7 has announced new morning and afternoon teams that started on Mon. 8/3/2015.

Cane + Carson are in mornings (Cane Peterson known from afternoons at 92.3 K-Rock with Karen Carson moving from middays)
while Trey + Ghia take afternoons (Trey known from late nights/Sundays at Z100 and Ghia most recently weekends/fill-ins at WPLJ).

AllAccess.com reports that Matt Sneed will move to middays while RadioInsight.com reports that Karen Carson will continue in middays - to be determined.

BTW, WWFS had the largest leap in the July 2015 ratings from 2.4-3.5.

I could see Fresh Morph into an AAA station.

Unlikely. They are doing exactly what music radio is trending toward; at work and in-transit listening.

It is almost impossible for me to find anyone under 30 who is interested, let alone passionate about radio today. Compared to the late 1990s the difference is stark and the reality it portends is depressing.

WFUV is NOT real AAA. It's public radio with a large extent unfamiliar music. A real AAA is WXRT in Chicago, also a CBS Radio owned station.
