Fresno 106.3

Has EMF returned 106.3 to the air yet?

No, still dark, they should try to sell it or lease it, they already have 3 K-Love stations in Fresno/ Madera county that overlap big time. It would be nice if Mapleton, Peak, Lotus, or any existing company in the valley would acquire it.

They could put Air 1 on it.

Very True the nearest Air one stations are in Bakersfield, King City, Hollister and Sonora, Surprised they haven't already done it.

EMF could certaintly give Air1 more coverage without taking to much away from K-Love. In my city,Concord in the East Bay Area I pickup K-Love on two full-power stations(KLVS 107.3 Stockton and KLVR 91.9 Santa Rosa) as well as three translators that come in and out.The nearest Air1 Station is a translator 40 miles away that I can't get A hint of. The people at EMF need to sit down and figure out which K-Love's can be flipped to Air1. All those K-Love's are such a waste and Air1 certainly could cover The Bay Area and parts of the valley better.

Yea, bring on Air 1.

If their on the air they must be on low power ,All I get in Clovis is a weak signal of 106.3 Merced.

The key is support and money. More established K-Love probably get's more donations. Just because you may hear KLVS and KLVR in Concord doesn't make the stations redundant. In fact, in the stations you mentioned have very little overlap.

I never said that KLVR or KLVS should flip to Air1, I think that some of the K-Love translators in the bay area can flip to Air1 because KLVS covers most of the Bay Area and the area surrounding Stockton and Modesto and those translators that cover KLVS's area are not needed anymore

Actually, until KLVS puts some fill-in bosters in the Bay Area, the signal is worthless in most of the Bay Area except for San Jose and Contra Costa. The Radio-Locator map does not account for shadowing at all.

I'm not arguing that not move some translators to Air1. The could easily move KYKL to Air1. They have a huge engineering department that studies opportunities to maximize coverage. They also need time to educate their *supporting* audience to move to new frequencies.

It is true that they have redundancy in some markets. The only translators they have in the Bay Area are San Francisco at 88.9 for K-Love and three translators in the South Bay with one carrying Air1. In San Francisco, you cannot get a usable signal off of KLVS at the time.
