Fresno CC RIF

Ok, maybe I am clueless, but how is CC planning to make their stations more "local" as they claim in their RIF announcement when they've just ended one of the last local morning shows and cut one of the few on-air's at KHGE?

I have no clue who is on this message board, but if you're like me, removed from radio after many years but still look back at your days in radio and realize that that job was one of the few that would allow you to get creative and actually be paid for it, you can't help but be disgusted with what this industry has become. I thought CC was bad, but really, 100's of jobs gone. Sad.

They aren't. They're lying to the public. You know: The opposite of what a license holder is supposed to do.

I'm disgusted at what the mega-corporations are doing to radio. Clear Channel is the WalMart of broadcasting. Just like WalMart the business model doesn't hold up forever.

But, hey, let's keep regulations away from business...that's how you create jobs, baby!

The whole thing makes me sick.

Shame on you CHEAP CHANNEL, for first, euthanizing The Wild Hare, and then nearly taking away all local talent, CC you lose, and you will go down, PEAK, LOTUS, and WILKS that has plenty of local talent are going to shut you down, CASE CLOSED!!!

Well said! ;D

And they replace Brady & Rose with Bronson & Christine based out of WLTW , NYC . Cheap Channel could not even find us somebody out of California or even the West Coast ? Fresno and the valley have absolutely nothing in common with NYC. This should be a big gain for KJWL.
