FRESNO RADIO PREDICTIONS FOR 2012

1.) KFRR will hire another syndicated morning show
2.) The Blaze will crack a four share
3.) Clear Channel will put Classic Hits on either 103.7 or 102.7
4.) Peak will do something with 105.9 other than KMJ-FM
5.) KBOS will be one of the only stations with all live talent.
6.) Mac Daniels will leave KSKS for another programming position in a major market
7.) Y-101 will tweak it's format for the 7th time
8.) Someone will do mainstream CHR here, Y-101, KFRR or KFBT.
9.) The new OM of CC Fresno will be a woman
10.) 106.3 will still be silent

I predict:

1) Y101 will be a format competitor to 97.9 Jammin' Oldies.
2) 102.7 will become Spanish.
3) 103.7 will stay the same.
4) 105.9 will become a hip-hop station.
5) 106.3 will become a hip-hop station.
6) B95 will stay the same.

1.Lotus will buy 104.9 KCRZ from West Coast and simulcast 105.1 the Blaze on it, to serve the South Valley better and will simply be 105 The Blaze, and they will continue to cut local talent.
2.Buckley will find a new TL for KIOO 99.7 to serve Fresno.
3. Alice 96.7 will become a jockless "JACK" style format.
4. 105.5 will end The Truth.
5. KOKO will move to the new 98.3 signal south of Fresno (Riverdale) with 25KW, I believe there a connection with the new CP owner and Art Laboe.
6. I second the thought that CC will finely end the Country format on 102.7.
7.After terrible ratings since KHIT switched back to a Spanish format , it will become another R&B station called the Vibe.

Transmitter Location, 99.7 needs to find a higher and better site to serve Fresno better much like thier sister station KSEQ, KIOO can't use the KSEQ site (Eshom Point) due to FCC rules, but 99.7 is Class "B" and there has to be a better site in Tulare county, maybe Blue Ridge, where KJUG is at, or just someplace higher than the current 1200 ft.

I totally agree with you about KIOO being moved to a higher spot!!! If it does, I hope it remains a non-direction 24k watter. I think where KJUG is would be a good place! Currently where it is now, the TL is too low to cover anything really distant like Fresno or Bakersfield or Coalinga. Selma to the north and Shafter to the south MAYBE. I will keep my fingers crossed!:eek: :eek: :eek:
 
I sdon't think Art Laboe has any connection at all to the owners of KZLA 98.3, a division of Gold Coast, a ruthless company not friendly with anyone else.

When KZLA 98.3 had (or may still have) their 100 watt signal at 100 ft in downtown Huron, they were simulcasting KOKO 94.3, now they have the new CP near Riverdale with 25KW, and speaking of KOKO 94.3, I noticed that they are only using their 265 watt repeater tower near Highway 180 between Marks and Brawley.
 
Hers's a prediction, Jen Lipp joins Peak Broadcasting, Jen is filling in for Chris Daniel this week on KMJ-FM 105.9 from 1PM-3PM.

Have always liked you kenrayc!!! Jen Lipp Is awesome wherever she goes, I have been enjoying her show the last two days!!!! On 105.9 Kmj FM
