Fresno is like the Midwest with a lot of Hispanics. It's not surprising that Fresno would support strong AOR product. The same goes for Bakersfield.

You really need to get out of town more often. Aside from the afore mentioned KROQ and KLOS, LA has Indie 103.1 (Voted Rolling Stone's station of the year), 98.7, 100.3 The Sound and public KCRW (Rock and NPR)

LA is rockin' more than it has in years, and some of 'em are even worth listening to!

(I don't think your last 2-stations are really Fresno stations either)

KFJK is JACK FM in Fresno, KIOO 99.7 is classic rock from Visalia, But can be heard in Fresno.

I did leave out one ,KBRE 92.5 Merced ,Active rock ,fron north Fresno county to Modesto.

LA rock radio is so weak. KROQ? Really? They are far from rockin'.

Name me one station in LA, not Riverside, that plays Godmsack into Zeppelin into Metallica into Linkin Park into Nirvana into Aerosmith....betcha can't name one.

Even the classic rock station in LA is horrendous. KLOS is stuck in 1977 it seems. CCR is no longer classic rock friends--its oldies.

It blows me away that market #2 and market #5 (SF) don't have a real active rock station.

Fresno on the other hand are in the midst of having too much rock inthe valley--but that isn't necessarily a bad thing... ;)

I just wish some of that rock would come up to Modesto.

Sure, we have Classic Rock 104.1 The Hawk and the Alternative leaning Modern A/C B-93.1 or the rimshot signal of 92.5 The Bear out of Merced, but there is still, after nearly 3 years, NO Active or mainstream rock outlet in Modesto/Stockton.

KIOO 99.7 CANNOT be heard clearly in Fresno. Their transmitter is not high enough to hit Fresno. It seems powerful enough in watts (24,000) pretty good, but it's tower is not high enough in elevation, which is located in Porterville. I can heard it clear from Selma at the north end and as far south as McFarland MAYBE Wasco but NOT Fresno. I can hear it good going up on parts of Hwy.41 to Coarsegold though!

I know 99.7 is a rimshot station to Fresno,Has no Fresno advertizing ,I listed as a Fresno station, because it comes in Eastern Fresno county,Sunnyside area ,Sanger,Fowler, and parts of Clovis along with going up 168 to Shaver.

THE

The Blaze 105.1,KRZR 103.7,KFRR 104.1,KJFX 95.7 rocks more than 99.7 anyway.

I agree with you that it comes in those areas especially in the open spaces. (foothills, farmland, etc.) but not in the city with homes, buildings, trees.

Ya ,99.7 Can be recieve in Fresno with a Radio Shack FM Antenna on the roof .A friend recieves it near First & Shaw ALL THE TIME . 99.7 line of sight signal cuts though Fresno. not good in the car at most places .

103.9 KDJK has a line of site signal in Fresno, but it's tricky to get it with there 72 watt signal with a directional antenna, and between 103.7 &104.1.

103.9 KDJK I can get only in the car (used to) around Fresno. It only works only with a Pioneer car stereo with the Supertuner (like mine). 103.9 used to come in loud and clear on my Pioneer without interference from 103.7 and 104.1 cutting in, now the signal is gone completely. Their transmitter fell down about a year ago and now I cannot get it at all or it's very weak. I know it's a transmitter problem because going north on 99 in Madera and Chowchilla it is spotty, wasn't like that before!

I e-mailed the station and I even called in one morning and they said, "Our readings in the studio are normal." I say BS! But, hey, I am not a engineer. I think they need to look into it further or hire a new engineer! I really hope one day they will wake up and see the light and fix the problem!!!!! Because I believe this station rocks the best in the valley even though it isn't a Fresno station!

KDJK signal is gone ,I have a Pioneer stereo as well in the car ,used to pick them up good north of Herndon, including the original KDJK 95.1 ,now KHOP, before they moved there tower to Knights Ferry ,east of stockton. The Hawk should fix that problem with 103.9.

You ought to inform 103.9 The Hawk about that too like I did. If we get enough people to tell them, maybe they will do something. You were saying, I was getting 103.9 clear north of Herndon, I was getting it good all over Fresno, Clovis and even Kerman but no more. Thank you for your support.
