Fresno Radio

Haven't heard much talk about Fresno radio lately...

Things have gotten bad:

KBOS- Still sounds strong... congrats to them.
KSEQ- Wow... anyone else hear the giant flushing sound?
KWYE- Wish they would take the KIIS FM approach like LA... Fresno needs that.
KLLE- Sounds okay... DJ's and imaging don't fit the format though.

What's the deal with 107.5? Ever since Univision bought it... they've been airing something that sounds like an AM station on it. What a HUGE waste of the signal. Why didn't they put La Kalle on that frequency? Had higher ratings when it was "Urban AC"... since then it's dissappeared off the ratings entirely.

Don't Forget Wilkes Broadcasting's KFRR, New Rock 104.. They lost their program director to KRZR and no longer have a website..

Agreed. CC fresno just knows what to do with this station. Always strong.

> KSEQ- Wow... anyone else hear the giant flushing sound?

They just sound so wanna be. Change in imaging earlier this year adds to the weakness. I bet they will drop format next year. To what I have no idea.

I actually really like the way they are presenting this station. Best imaging of any CHR I've heard including KIIS. I think (CBS Radio) should use this station as the example in which to begin a CHR division across the nation.

It's seems to be slowing gaining some speed. Definately directed at bilingual young men.

HORRIBLE!! Sounds horrible and just sounds like it has no direction. Vibe seemed to be gaining listeners when the plug was pulled. I did not think a urban AC had any chance in Fresno but with the old school mixed in it sounded pretty cool. Definately had better processing then what it has now.

Other stations:

Jack FM- I know of a lot of people who are liking it. I hear it all over town in stores, banks and restraunts.

104.1- Needs a new slogan to go with the new agressiveness the new PD has brought with her. It is now a KROQ clone- which is good since they were sounding like Alice with a edge for the last couple years.

KRZR - Weird hearing Rev on 103.7. He does sound more motivated than before however. The music is getting too hard but maybe that is just my age catching up with me at 37.

Soft rock - Seems to be doing the Christmas thing this week to join the other Christmas station K-jewel.

Any thoughts?

104.1 should bring back the name "New Rock 104"... it's a hell of a lot catchier than "104 point 1 the valley's alternative station"

Jack... will probably do well. Although the first trend sucked. I think it'll come around.

As for KALZ... how do they continue to do well? That's amazing... the station sounds horrible. Sounds like an amatuer version of Star 98.7 in LA... are people still listening to Alanis Morrisette and Jewel?

And as for KWYE... I doubt CBS radio will make them any kind of example for what the format should sound like... it's not working.
