Fresno's Progressive Talk 790?

KMJ's Appleton Has Heart Condition

Debuting on Independence Day, 2005, AM 790 KFPT has hit the ground running. Despite a few syndication glitches, the widely anticipated format seems to have struck a nerve. Expect sister station, KMJ, to lose some of its ranking within the Fresno market and Infinity cluster.

Apparently, the very same programmers who operate KMJ are responsible for the operation of their partisan opposite sister station. We'll see if KFPT gets any promotion with what's not likely to be welcomed responsiblity for KMJ management within Infinity Broadcasting.

They need to bring in local talent though. Is there anybody that might stand out in the market as a progressive talk host? Ideally, KFPT would need people familar with the area rather than bring them in.

Whether you agree with either point of view, it's about time there was a balance of choice in the valley.
