Friends of Rick Stevens (Alexandria)

For those who have not been updated, Rick Stevens, one of the very first jocks on air at KRRV in Alexandria when it signed on in 1977, has been in failing health for quite some time and is not expected to survive effects after a severe cardiac arrest episode, he is in hospital in Lafayette, only family members are allowed as visitors at this time.
A memorial service is being planned at Hixon Brothers Funeral Home in Alexandria for an as yet undetermined date.
I will post the date and time as the family releases the info.
Rick is one of the "Good Guys" in radio, he never wanted any trouble, no arguments, he has always been easy-going, and has hardly ever complained about anything in the radio station while working, and his knowledge of Country Music is unsurpassed. If you did not know Rick Stevens, you did not know a rare commodity in radio.

"Celebration of The Life Of Rick Stevens" will take place Saturday at Hixson Bros. in Alexandria, exact time has not been set yet.

I had the honor of not only working with Rick, but also listening to him to him during the K-Dixie days. Rick was a stable in Alexandria, and was a joy to work with. My deepest condolences to his family.

The services for Rick Stevens will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 at Hixson Brothers on Jackson Street in Alexandria. Visitation begins at 1 p.m.

That's a shame about Rick. He was always so laid back, easy to work with, great smoking buddy to talk fishing with and someone you could actually trust in the building.

One of the true good guys. He will be missed......
