Fringe area Translator changing hands

The station has been silent for quite for some time but K290AP 105.9 in Commerce is being sold by Houston Christian Broadcasters for $12.5K. The buyer is Hue Beavers and yes, the reason for the acquisition is to bolster coverage for KGVL 1400 Greenville, especially at night.

What I didn't mention is this: don't necessarily expect the translator to remain at its present location, 11 miles north-northeast of the KGVL transmitter site.

If its at all possible to put it on KGVL's tower, that could put a listenable fringe signal over the eastern part of Collin County and maybe most of Rockwall county.

Could the 105.9 signal possibly reach Dallas ? What is KGVL 1400's night time power ? Not sure if it's been mentioned on here or not, but they are online now.

Picking up the translator anywhere outside the immediate Greenville area would be quite a stretch, since their effective range might be limited to something like just over a ten mile radius. KGVL, like the majority of "graveyard" channel stations, operates with 1,000 watts fulltime and due to excellent ground conductivity the day signal is really pretty good. But at night it starts getting trashed a short distance out town (like the aforementioned ten miles or so).
