The format Preciosa copied is already on the air in Chicago.

And Kiss is billing at record levels, far ahead of the leading Spanish stations.

Yep. It is the only UVN "Recuerdo" format done 100% locally.

Doubt it. They wouldn't do anything that would compete too closely with WGCI.

Would be great to see an active rock format again, but we all know that won't happen anytime soon.

Why not, make it younger than GCI and VAZ, to target B96. B is weakened, 1 bad blow can change the course of things. Make the cluster bill higher in the market.

Also, sometimes these companies set it up where they would rather have these people jump to one of their own stations than a competitor.

So, not too far off to think they would take it some type of Urban.
______________

Jammin Oldies billed MORE than what KISS is billing today 5 years later.

The reasoning behind your comment is?????? Dumber moves have occured as can be seen.
______________

Per MK, this is going to be the best year in the history of the frequency, based on the first three months.

The reasoning is that Kiss is billing at the rate of about $6 million a year higher than any Spanish language station in the market. Another station in the segment would _reduce_ the billing potential of all of them, as the Hispanic revenue pool is finite.

The statins Clear has changed to Spanish were not uptrending; most were dogs. sure, they could do anything, but this is not the pattern of the other stations they have converted and it is rather unlikely.

yeah it could be like what cc is doing in sf with KYLD and KMEL
______________

Interesting idea... neither SF station is realy hard core urban, and both have a significant non-ethinic and Hipanic audience. KYLD would be the B-96, but KMEL is to the "no color lines" side of GCI.

Yeah, seriously.

A consultant handling programming for a station? BAD SIGN!!!

Possibly. Target B96.

Rhythmic oldies are on the rebound as well.

I could also see an "80s, 90s, and now" format to take on the Mix, since it is a billing powerhouse. A station kind of like jack, without the "whatever"

More from Feder today:

http://www.suntimes.com/output/feder/cst-fin-feder281.html

* In a move rumored for months, Rod Phillips was forced out Monday after almost five years as program director at WKSC-FM (103.5). He doubled as midday personality "Rodney P." on the Clear Channel Radio Top 40 station.

Until a replacement is hired, radio consultant Steve Perun will oversee day-to-day programming duties while continuing to operate his outside business. Perun, who's been consulting Kiss FM since last fall, is a Chicago native and programming veteran of ABC-owned WLS-AM (890) and its FM sister station in the 1980s.

No reason was cited for the change, but Clear Channel bosses were believed to be unhappy with the station's ratings performance under Phillips.

Before signing on in 2001, Phillips programmed Clear Channel's WKFS-FM in Cincinnati.

You're smokin yer shoes! B96 is the station that ought to be
lokoing for a format. Kiss beat their ass in cume and among it's
target which was always stated as "suburban females ages 12-24"
as well as 25-34 females.
