That thread has gotten entirely too long to track, so I'm responding here:

I think the piece that's missing is that yes, people can find out when their "favorite" music is coming out, but KEXP is a source for FINDING new favorites. Stuff you've never heard that becomes a favorite. They introduce people to new stuff daily. So yes, I can find out when the new record is out from an artist I already love, but being turned on to new favorites is a wonderful thing!

It's that way for me too. I'm always into discovering new stuff. And not just Madonna's new single, there's LOTS more out there than that to find!. KEXP is one of my tools for discovery. The web is the other. So until they make a practical and somewhat safe way to web surf while driving in Seattle, KEXP will do....

No response giving examples of the research and Arbitron sampling problems?

Sad, becuase I think the Arbitron brass would like to hear them.
