Judging by the rate at which both Valdemar and Davidson (both of whom employ the buy-and-then-LMA method) are buying stations, it looks like this business model works well. You own all the hard assets, plus get guaranteed cash-flow, plus you don't have to run the stations. But isn't half the fun in running them? I mean, I could collect a nice check doing lots of things...selling cars or insurance, maybe even Amway. But it wouldn't be nearly as much fun...
