From St. Louis: DJ's suspended.

I'm sure they'll want the police officers armed when a thug is robbing their mother. Typical of this generation who never marched with Dr. King, who never suffered what we suffered through the 60s and 70s. They're on the air, they have jobs and they're influencial. Rather than focus on how young brothers and sisters can be successful they'll focus on how to wind up in jail. They should be fired, removed and forced into sensitivity training. This is the kind of nonsense that keeps the animosity going and does nothing to meld the relationship between ALL communities and the police departments who's lives are usually on the line putting the same thugs in jail on a monthly basis.

<font color=3333ff>It's also a serious situation when there is police brutality, unjust/covered-up MURDER by cops, harassment, or generally corrupt cops.

Where's the justice for those who have been abused? It's a two-way street. The FAP is calling for them to be fired, but I think they will be back on since the show is a hit in the city. If they are to be fired, then let's fire all the corrupt cops! Oh can't do that, they'd lose half the force!

Not sure if you remember musicloverII, but where I used to live the cops showed up late and I had to learn to protect myself. This aint the brady bunch land where you can call the cops to get a cat out of a tree. This is the hip hop generation, and as much as there are folks like me who you call "thugs and gangbangers," those same 25-30 year olds are also "protecting" your street. Think about that. THEY have not marched with MLK or suffered through the 60's and 70's (as you put it) EITHER,

Now where I live, the cops harass us more than ever. I've been here for 11 years. They always sneak up on us, search us, harass us. Never find nothing. Do you go through that weekly? Monthly? Have you ever been RECENTLY victimized by the police? How about two weeks ago my friend had an incident, and now he's suing the city! And he will win too.

I got a job on 2nd shift just so I can stay away from my neighborhood at night and that's because I don't even want to be seen, and harassed. By the time I get home, things are calm and much better.

It's a two-way street my friend. Just because you see your side that you're on and are looking across the street from afar, doesn't mean both sides are the same.

Thank you. But guess what, because they're on the other side of the street, the world keeps turning as usual. But that's another issue, let's try to keep it radio.

<font color=3333ff>I know to keep it about radio, Frank... I just had to prove my point to musiclover that there are always more than one side to every story and opinion.

Being that the suspension has to do with the TOPIC that the DJ's were discussing on the air, what I wrote can be considered supplimental to the radio issue.

:)

From allaccess...

CLEAR CHANNEL Urban KATZ (100.3 THE BEAT)/ST. LOUIS has officially fired suspended morning hosts DJ KAOS and DJ SYLLI ASZ for their on-air discussion of ways to fight police officers just 8 days after a local sergeant was murdered, reports the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. The jocks were suspended the day after their on-air comments, and in the nearly three weeks since the suspension the station has been pressured with calls for the DJs' dismissal along with a boycott by members of the FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE.
