Yes, and it's been successsful with public radio. My thought is that KUOW's recent high showing with Arbitron is in part to it's Podcasts. I listen to them almost daily while on the bus with my iPod.

The roadblock that most stations face, including C89, is copyright. Two copyright licenses are necessary. One is from the song owner-- which ASCAP, BMI and SESAC were quick to come up with a formula. The other is from the sound recording owner. With streaming, SoundExhange handles those licenses. However, no formula has been put in place with Podcasting. Each recording has to be cleared with each individual record label.

So music intensive stations have trouble with the podcasting thing.

I think with videos and specialty programs offered by radio stations, it could be a hit with younger people (I LOVE my video iPod too.)

KEXP could offer concerts and music videos along with their assortment of other downloadable aural goodies on their website....

It's worth a shot. <P ID="signature">______________

Hopefully we (meaning "Radio") can overcome and clear the copyright hurdle.

I agree with you!
