FROM THE BOSTON BOARD: LAURENTI OUT AT BOS

Looks like Charles' ex sidekick John Laurenti is out at WBOS (along with pretty much everyone else). I'd say he shoulda stayed at HJY but that gig wouldn't have lasted anyway. Too many jocks. Too few jobs.

So after reading the boston board it does look like everyone is out. Do you think that there going to go with a jockless station? or half jockless like b101 and just voicetrack everything? Or is there the possibility of seeing some other DJ's that have been let go re-amerge on Radio 92: like Mike Brangiforte or others? any thoughts??

John Laurenti stopped being a good fit for HJY long before he left. He doesn't have that man-child image. The only thing good about him being there was that he offset Charles. Others have too but in a more juvenile way. I could never get used to hearing him at WBOS as the image was so different. Believe it or not I think he'd be perfect for B101. It's essentially a classic hits station which means a lot of classic rock and voicetracked or not he'd be good for that noon to 6PM shift as opposed to the intrusive Ed McMann. But I'm just dreaming here. He also sounded his best in Boston when he weekended at ZLX. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up there in some capacity.

Agreed.

John was excellent on WZLX, he really fit their style and sounded better that some of the full timers. It sounded like he put a lot of work into the 'Beatles Brunch' which ran on Sunday mornings.
