From the Classic TV Shows Getting A Feature Film Remake File

CNN Entertainmant reports that Warner Brothers, the studio that brought us "Starsky & Hutch" and "The Dukes Of Hazzard" are developing a CHIPS feature film based on the 1977-83 TV series which orginally aired on NBC. The actor best known for his role as Fez on "That 70's Show" has been cast as Ponch. At least we'll probably see CHIPS:The Complete First Season on DVD soon and maybe the short lived line of 8 & 3 3/4" action figures produced by the defunct Mego toy company might be worth a few bucks.
______________

There will soon be a "Miami Vice" movie. Colin Farrell is playing Crockett and Jamie Foxx is playing Tubbs.

Recycling bad TV shows into bad movies just shows how creatively bankrupt Hollywood is. Have a bad new movie, sell the original back catalouge bad TV show on DVD, and reap profits. Marketing synergy for a built in fan base.
______________

Anybody who's seen Wilmer Valderrama's (Fez) appearances on MadTV shouldn't be surprised that he's getting this role. Nonetheless, good for him, but I see like Starsky & Hutch (which I actually liked) and the Dukes theatrical flick, this one might tank unless they don't make it more of a parody like the other films.

This movie is billed as an action/comedy. I wouldn't be surprised if Owen Wilson gets cast as Jon. He seems to be the "go-to" guy for these types of movies.
______________

I'm just waiting for a "Rockford Files" feature film. That one would actually be interesting. Cast Bruce Willis as Jim Rockford and maybe Bill Murray as Angel.
