From the Left Concerning Rush, I found this in Newsmax

http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/limbaugh-fonda-steinem-fcc/2012/03/11/id/432107

“If Clear Channel won't clean up its airways, then surely it's time for the public to ask the FCC a basic question: Are the stations carrying Limbaugh's show in fact using their licenses "in the public interest?"

“Spectrum is a scarce government resource. Radio broadcasters are obligated to act in the public interest and serve their respective communities of license. In keeping with this obligation, individual radio listeners may complain to the FCC that Limbaugh's radio station (and those syndicating his show) are not acting in the public interest or serving their respective communities of license by permitting such dehumanizing speech."

1. The FCC stopped enforcing the public interest requirement a long time ago.
2. I wouldn't bother listening to Fonda, Steinem, OR Limbaugh. They're all extremists.
3. As long as Limbaugh gets the ratings, he'll be on. The public seems to go for the red meat.

Limbaugh is an entertainer...or so he believes, plain and simple.

Truthfully...would someone who espouses ultra-conservative values make three appearances...including a featured one....on Family Guy?

Really?

Most of us have seen Family Guy, and some of it is downright hysterical, and some of it truly offensive....but I find it hard to believe that someone who claims to be that far to the right and truly that conservative would appear there...unless he's just using the right wing to get money and adopts a "do as I say, not as I do" mentality.

Next...

He has higher ratings than God. If you are a local advertiser with a high end product or service you will sell lot's of stuff if you run spots on his day part.

There is really nothing else to say.

Wasn't Rush lampooning himself on that Family Guy episode when he did the Quahog book signing.

Other than that I would agree with the whole respective of community license issue. This goes to anybody who makes offensive remarks. I also feel that radio should give light to all 3 sides of the political spectrum. That radio people who make offensive remarks are not serving in best interest.

Randi Rhodes has a show produced by Clear Channel based Premier Radio Networks. Why can't her show be put on 970 WFLA.

Speaking about Family Guy guess who appeared in Family Guy's precursor "Life or Larry and Steve". None other than Newt Gingrich who was than Speaker of the House. FG creator Seth MacFarlene was than a student at Rhode Island School of Art.

What I like most about Family Guy and American Dad is that it pokes fun at both sides. Although MacFarlene is a staunch Liberal like myself his cartoons will poke fun at Liberalism. Same with Simpsons/ Futurama creator Matt Groening who had Ted Nugent guest star on his show.

..and I appreciate the fact that MacFarlane will skewer both sides. But if you are a conservative...a real conservative, you toe the line to the right. You never appear on a show that mocks the Christian faith, not to mention the one program that every conservative group is lobbying to have taken off the air.

The furor about Rush should not be because he is a conservative (or so he says), but because he acts like an extremely immature adolescent boy on air and makes conservatism look stupid

From someone who has claimed not to listen to him.
