Milwaukee radio was so quiet through most of the 90s into the early 00s. Hardly any format changes. It's been said a few times already on this board...WLTQ flipping to the Brew (and becoming a huge success) has now started triggering a chain of events. I think that Milwaukee radio will be exciting to watch in the coming months/years. Everytime a station makes a move, the landscape of the market changes and another station will eventually make a move. It's like a chess game.

A shocker, plus I feel so bad for the heritage LAZER station. This is great news for WLUM, though as they have the chance now to take LAZERS place.

Couldn't they have chose a better name, though! THE HOG???????

Considering Wisconsin is considered the Farming Midwest and the home to the most famous Hogs ever, Harley Davidson, I'd say it's a fitting name. The station is coming right out saying "Radio for guys, programed by guys." Can't get much more cut and dry than that.

Hilarious pics at the top of the page. This will be fun to watch.

Doesn't sound like The Brew......Think The Hog will do really good as long
as they don't get into a repetative song list. This is a big complaint that I
hear from listeners of The Brew. They are getting just plain bored with it.

How times change, kind of ironic that 10 years ago WQFM couldn't make it with this type of format.

According to the Journal-Sentinel, The Hog has a 700-song playlist, a big jump over Lazer.

Definitely a step in the right direction, though.
______________
