Is it just me, or is the buy of KVMA-AM/KWDO-FM just a way for Noalmark to get SAU Magnolia college students into the system at minimum wage? If it is, well good thinking, but that's just about all you can squeeze out of these two when it comes to recruiting for their other stations. Good luck with that... you get what you pay for.

Gee, I made more than minimum wage while working for Noalmark and they certainly didn't recruit me or any of the other full timers from the local college. In fact, I'm OLD. LOL! I actually thought their rate of pay for my market was fair.

Granted there were some young part-timers but with today's automated market we all know how difficult it is to make a start in radio. So yes, part timers are always under paid. They have always been and it doesn't matter what company you work for or what market...the most a part timer can really hope for is minimum wage or a bit over.

You can be a former employee without being a disgruntled employee. It does you no good to be bitter and really doesn't hurt them at all. Actually, can harm your career by bad mouthing any former employer. This industry is much too small and if you stay in it for very long you will discover over and over again how many times you will work with the same people.

Please don't hate me for giving you some friendly advice. We have all been in your shoes at one time or another. Radio is a fickle creature. When you're hot your hot and when you're not...there's always another job opportunity right around the corner if you're good enough.

So just forget the wrong that might have been done to you and put that energy into focusing on improving your skills.

Well, I'm not really up to speed on what's going on with the Arkansas education system, but if you say so, "Mrs. Jethro Bodine"! ;)

But truly, what you said to Aardvark (or whatever his name is) about focusing his energy towards something positive and constructive sure made sense to me!
