MAJOR, major correction: CW will be renamed "The C" by 2014...

What does that mean? Simply humor? Or that the Warner Brothers name is no more...???

Here are some suggestions:
"Gossip Girl: Los Angeles"
"Lost Again"
"America's Next Top Drama Queen"
"The Life and Times of Erin Esurance"
"Even Colder Case"
"Karate Kicks With the Stars"
"The Cosby Cosby Show"
"Big Mansion on the Prairie"
"The Pussycat Dolls Variety Hour"

The point of this post is that things are only going to get worse unless the networks
can do a better job of picking their NEW series and deciding when to let go of old ones.

On another thread people were posting what little network TV they actually watch today.
How can network TV survive if cable channels continue to take their audience away?

Summer of 2015:
'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon'

Early spring of 2016:
'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'

NBC still won't be able to learn from their prior mistakes.....

Then....

Fall of 2016
'The Tonight Show with Ranjeep Singh' (Comcast will have outsourced the position)

No one in a world of hundreds of choices (and that's just the "linear" channels) is going to command audiences of some mythical golden era of the past. It's simply a different world. Protestations of the grandpappys and grandpappy-wanna-bes aside, comparisons of shows when there were less than a dozen viable viewing choices at a given time to what we have today are laughable.

Monday:

8pm - The Simpsons

Tuesday
8pm - The Simpsons (repeat of Monday episode)

Wednesday
8pm - The Simpsons (repeat of Monday episode).

You get the idea....

PLEASE tell me this a joke. If these shows really air I'm throwing away my TV. Especially if it's going to be invaded by Justin Bieber.

While made in jest, this isn't all that far from the truth. Cable has been doing this for most of the past decade and the networks have mostly given up on Friday/Saturday primetime. Re-purposing shows was the buzzword circa 2005 and it wouldn't surprise me to see each network basically broadcasting 4-6 "original" shows A WEEK, plus sports, plus unscripted shows, supplemented by reruns. We really aren't that far from that already.

American Idol will be replaced by Ryan Seacrest Wrestles A Bear.

CW will roll out with two new shows that basically are copied from originals

Clifford Joseph Harris stars in Magnum T.I. It will be set in Atlanta. That is followed by Star Trek: The Millenial Generation. That show is about a bunch of Genration Y crew members who are too busy tweeting and don't listen to anything Wil Wheaton says and the Enterprise gets nowhere.
