Frontier customers without TV for hours

Frontier Communications said Monday morning that all television set-top boxes in Connecticut were out of service and must be rebooted.

Customers cannot reboot the boxes themselves, a company tech support representative said. Frontier expects that the outage could last for 24 hours, he said at 8:30 a.m. There is no information on what caused the outage, the representative said, “but we’re working on it.’’

Some area Frontier customers were reporting by mid-afternoon that their service had been restored, and company representatives were attempting to help others who commented on the company’s Facebook page.

Frontier’s television customers need to have their boxes rebooted, a recorded message on the company’s technical support phone line says. “We are aware of the problem and we are working expeditiously to correct it,’’ the message states.
